The Hope Island Train Station, part of Queensland's Cross River Rail project, is undergoing a significant transformation to enhance accessibility and connectivity for the local community. The station's design, developed by architectural firm GHD Woodhead in collaboration with engineering company GHD, reflects a commitment to modern infrastructure while respecting the area's heritage.
Construction is being carried out by the Acciona Georgiou Joint Venture (AGJV), with WSP and BG&E serving as the designers for the project. The station will feature a carpark with 179 car spaces and provisions for future expansion, a 40-bike enclosure, and improved accessibility features, including two through-lifts on both platforms and tactile indicators.
SOLIDAL products have been approved for use in the project, contributing to the station's modern yet historically sensitive design. Known for their durability and aesthetic versatility, SOLIDAL’s PMP R2 (Custom) will contribute to project's architectural vision.
Importantly, the Hope Island upgrade comes at a time when Queensland is preparing to host the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, placing even greater focus on improving transport infrastructure and connectivity across the region. Once complete, the station will boost access to rail services on the Gold Coast and to Brisbane, supporting residents and visitors alike.
