The Parramatta Aquatic Centre has received international recognition, winning a World Architecture Prize at the World Architecture Festival 2024 for its outstanding design excellence and contribution to public infrastructure.
Designed by Grimshaw Architects in collaboration with Andrew Burges Architects and McGregor Coxall, the project has been celebrated for its strong connection to Country, and its people-focused approach to public space. The design successfully balances civic presence, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
SOLIDAL is proud to have contributed to this award-winning project, having been selected to supply our high-performance façade system that form part of the centre’s architectural expression. SOLIDAL PMP U3 series in 50% porosity and 9.5mm diameter with 60-degree pattern was chosen for its durability, precision, and ability to support the project’s bold yet refined design language, while meeting the performance demands of a high-use public facility.
The recognition highlights the strength of collaboration between architects, landscape designers, and specialist material partners in delivering architecture of lasting value. The Parramatta Aquatic Centre stands as an example of how thoughtful material selection and design innovation can come together to create places that serve both people and place.
SOLIDAL congratulates the entire project team on this global achievement and is honoured to have supported a project that continues to set new standards in contemporary civic architecture.
